Indiana does not require a statewide general contractor license. Indiana does NOT require a statewide general contractor license. Licensing is entirely local. Indianapolis requires a general contractor license ($247) with proof of insurance and bond. Fort Wayne (Allen County) has its own contractor licensing board. Each city/county sets its own fees, experience requirements, and exam rules. All businesses must register with the Indiana Secretary of State.
