What this site is

GetTradeLicense is an independent reference site publishing contractor and trade licensing requirements for all 51 US jurisdictions. Every fact is compiled from primary sources and cited. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any state contractor licensing board, department of labor, department of professional or occupational regulation, or any city or county licensing authority.

You cannot obtain, apply for, or renew a contractor or trade licence through this site. We are not a government service, not a law firm, and not your representative.

Not legal advice

Everything here is general information. It is not legal advice and does not create any professional relationship. Requirements change, sometimes between our last check and your reading. Always verify with your state or local licensing board before acting— especially before paying a fee, sitting an examination, or relying on a deadline.

Accuracy, and how to challenge it

We publish under a stated methodology: every claim is traced to a primary source, and where a source is unclear or two sources conflict we say so on the page rather than pick one silently. We still make mistakes. If you find one, write toinfo@gettradelicense.com and we will check it against the source and correct it. We would rather be corrected than be confidently wrong.

We give no warranty that the site is complete, current or error-free, and to the extent the law allows we are not liable for any loss arising from relying on it.

Using our content

The underlying facts — fees, deadlines, statutory requirements — are public information and we claim no ownership of them. The compilation, wording, tables and design are ours. Quote us with attribution and a link; please do not republish pages wholesale or scrape the site to rebuild it elsewhere.
