Roofing Contractor License Requirements in Idaho

No Statewide License Required

Idaho does not require a statewide roofing contractor license. Idaho does NOT require a separate roofing contractor license — only registration with the Contractors Board. Registration requires $300,000 GL insurance and workers comp (if applicable). Some cities like Boise and Idaho Falls may have additional local permit or licensing requirements. Building permits are required for roofing work in most jurisdictions.

Minimum $300,000 single-limit general liability insurance required including products and completed operations coverage. Workers comp required for all employers.
